Mandeta @MartinisMarchi

Born in Split in 1957, where he still lives and works, Damir Vrdoljak–Mandeta has dedicated his entire life to the sea, which remains the central theme of his artistic work.

After a successful sailing career, he turned to travel writing and journalism, eventually finding his true passion in sculpture, which he has been devoted to for the past 25 years.

Mandeta’s works reflect the deep connection between man and the sea, capturing both its power and poetry through expressive forms and textures.

Working primarily with wood, stone, and metal, he transforms natural materials into striking, timeless pieces that embody the rhythms and spirit of the Adriatic.

His distinctive style merges simplicity with emotional depth, making his sculptures both contemporary and deeply rooted in Mediterranean heritage.

This summer, Martinis Marchi had the honour of hosting his exhibition during the Martinis Marchi Summer Party 2025, offering our guests a unique artistic journey inspired by the timeless dialogue between the sea and human creativity.
