Environment

Sustainbility initiatives

At Martinis Marchi Marina, sustainability is an essential part of our philosophy. Our approach is based on respect for the natural environment and pride in the cultural heritage of the island of Šolta. We are committed to reducing the ecological footprint of our operations while preserving the unique landscape and biodiversity of the Adriatic.

Since opening the marina, we have supported sustainable tourism and environmentally responsible marina practices, actively protecting the flora and fauna of Maslinica Bay. As custodians of this exceptional location, we strive to ensure that our activities have a minimal impact on the surrounding natural environment.

European Sustainability Projects
Martinis Marchi Marina is an active partner in the European Interreg DEEP-SEA project, aimed at improving marina quality, safety and environmental sustainability. As part of this initiative, the marina has introduced several environmentally friendly solutions, including:

electric charging stations for e-cars and e-boats
e-bike rentals for exploring the island sustainably
electric vehicles for guest transportation

These initiatives encourage sustainable mobility and responsible tourism throughout the island of Šolta.

Towards a Zero Plastic Policy
Another important step in our sustainability journey is our commitment to becoming a zero plastic waste hotel and marina. Our goal is to significantly reduce plastic use by replacing plastic materials with biodegradable alternatives and eliminating single-use plastics wherever possible.

Through responsible waste management and sustainable operational practices, we aim to reduce our environmental impact while continuing to provide exceptional service to our guests.

Marina Clean-Up Initiative
As part of our ongoing environmental efforts, we organise the Marina Clean-Up event, during which the seabed of Maslinica Bay is cleaned at least twice a year. This initiative contributes to preserving the Adriatic marine ecosystem while maintaining the crystal-clear waters that define the beauty of our destination.

By working together with our team, partners and guests, we aim to protect this extraordinary environment for future generations.

Deep Sea project

DEEP-SEA aims to tackle the problems of predominant single-modality land transport (cars), highly polluting maritime transport (motor boats with endothermic engines) and limited integration of mobility services offered in the sector described above.
