A heritage letter...
Alberti is an old noble family from Split. As neither Ivan Petar Marchi or his brothers had male descendants, the castle later passed through the female line into the possession of the Split nobleman Ivan Alberti, and the descendant of the descendants of the daughter married to Martinis from Bol, on the condition that she bears the surname Martinis-Marchi.
One of the last owners of the castle, Count Petar degli Alberti, was twice a very successful mayor of Šolta.
