Ardelio Della Bella is an important Italian and Croatian Catholic priest, spiritual writer, lexicographer and missionary. In a period of twenty years, during his life in Croatia, he collected material for his dictionary Dizionario italiano-latino-ilirico (important trilingual dictionary), which he published in Venice in 1728.
From 1703 he was a member of the Croatian, that is, the Illyrian Academy, which was founded by Ivan Petar Marchi together with 12 members.
