A heritage letter...
Jerolim Kavanjin is considered the most important writer from Split after Marko Marulić, who left behind the huge work "Wealth and Poverty". In 1703, Kavanjin became a member of the Illyrian Academy that John Peter Marchi founded, whose aim was to nurture Croatian language and translate forgein works. Jerolim Kavanjin was closely related to Ivan Petar Marchi, whose sister Perica he married.
